Big stock country

Livestock is the biggest farm earner in the Coorong District Council area, ahead of cereal, hay, milk and wool. Further south around Keith it is grain, hay, wool and lucerne seed: about 80 per cent of Australia's lucerne seed is grown within 100 km of Keith.

That means a lot of yards, gates and trailers doing hard work, often a long way from town.

When a breakdown hurts most

Spring shearing, hay when the baling window opens, and grain harvest, which can run past New Year in the South East. Lucerne seed comes off in late summer into autumn. If something breaks in the middle of one of these, call us early, so the trip can be planned.

Make the most of a long trip

Tintinara is close to two hours each way. Clear photos of the break, the whole machine and any other job you have waiting help us work out what the trip needs. If the part can come off and travel on a ute or trailer, bringing it to Nairne is another option.

Meningie, Coonalpyn, Tintinara and Keith are in the Upper South East fire ban district, while Tailem Bend and Coomandook are in the Murraylands. The Coorong District Council is split across both. Check your own district on the CFS site.
