When a machine or implement cracks, the job stops. We are a welding business in Nairne, set up for farmers. Bring it in, or we come to you.

NL Welding and Fabrication repairs farm machinery and implements across the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Barossa and Upper Coorong in South Australia. We are based in Nairne. If the machine can be moved, bring it to the workshop. If it cannot, we fix it on the farm.
A crack in a frame usually starts where the steel flexes most: at a weld, a corner or a hole. Caught early, it is usually a smaller job than a part that has snapped right through.
Sometimes the part that failed was simply too light for the work it does. On a recent trailer job the upright had cracked around the weld, so we replaced it with slightly thicker steel to take the load.
A photo of the break, a photo of the whole machine and where it is. Add the make and model if you know it. That gives us what we need to work out the job and quote it.

Tell us what has broken and where it is. A photo of the break helps us work out what the job needs.
We work out the job and quote it, then you decide. Quotes are free.
Bring it to the workshop in Nairne, or we come out to you and fix it on site.
Yes. Mobile repairs on the farm are what we set the business up for. Send a photo of the break and tell us where the machine is, and we will tell you what the job needs.
It depends on the part. A repair that lasts starts by removing the whole crack, then putting in a sound weld. Repair usually suits custom, large or hard-to-replace parts.
Replacing can make more sense when rust has spread through the part, or the part was too light for the job in the first place. If something keeps cracking in the same spot, the cause is usually the load or the design, so ask about strengthening it as well.
Cast iron can be welded, but it takes care. Its high carbon content makes it prone to cracking, so it needs slow, even preheating and slow cooling. Some cast irons are easier than others, and white cast iron is generally treated as unweldable.
Send us a photo of the part and we will tell you if it is a job we can take on.

Yes. We TIG weld aluminium. Aluminium welds well when the surface oxide is cleaned off first, though some high-strength alloys are prone to cracking.
