NL Welding and Fabrication repairs sheep and cattle yards on site across the Adelaide Hills, Murraylands, Barossa and Upper Coorong in South Australia. We set up to work with farmers, saleyards and other businesses. Send a photo of the damage and tell us where the yards are, and we will quote the job for free.
Get it fixed before the next mob comes through
A broken rail or a gate that will not latch becomes a problem the moment stock are in the yard. Tell us when the yards will be empty, and the job can be planned around your work.
Who it is for
We set the business up for the farming side: farmers, saleyards and other businesses in the industry. If you have stock and something has broken, ask us.

Questions people ask
What should I do before the welder arrives?
Move stock away from the job if you can, and clear anything that can burn from around it. In the fire danger season the CFS asks for a 10-metre cleared space around outdoor welding. Tell us about anything nearby that could be a problem when you call.
Can you weld galvanised steel?
Galvanised steel welds well, with closer control than bare steel. The zinc burns off near the arc, so the edges are usually ground clean first. The fumes need good ventilation, because zinc fumes can cause metal fume fever.
The weld area then needs its rust protection put back. On site, that usually means a zinc-rich paint.

Can you weld on a Total Fire Ban day?
Not outdoors, unless you hold a Schedule 10 permit and follow its terms. The Country Fire Service (CFS) says these permits are generally only issued for emergencies.
A Total Fire Ban is declared when the Fire Danger Rating is Extreme or Catastrophic. It starts at midnight and lasts 24 hours. If a ban lands on the day of your job, the outdoor welding has to wait.
